Value added is the name of the game: most enter the nursery at national standard, but by year 6 the vast majority are well beyond it, with many of them significantly above.
Pupils develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem and resilience to a mature level, encouraged by the school’s focus on perseverance.
Session 3 of our Rising Allies programme focused on how to manage increasing independence for our Year 5 pupils @berkhamstedprep. The year 8 pupils, supported by year 12 students, encouraged the children to think about personal safety, responsibilities and a growing sense of independence both at home and at school. @berkhamstedschools @berkhamstedboys @berkhamstedgirls @berkhamstedsixth

Front and backstage in the Wild Woods!!
Yesterday we had the Berkhamsted Bake Off for year 6. We were so impressed with the thought and effort that went into every entry. From earth day, to graduation, to the year 6 play, we had some fabulous entries. And we very much enjoyed tasting them too! Well done to all our winners.

Motor cars and Wild Woods…….Yr6 On stage
🚀Last week, Year 5 @berkhamstedprep took their learning to new heights!
🎨They zoomed into the laws of physics by creating balloon-powered cars and unleashed their artistic skills by recreating Mr Macpherson’s decorated box from memory.
🌌 Bringing space to the classroom!
The pupils were then immersed in a galactic experience in an inflatable dome in the Centenary Theatre, exploring our solar system and its fascinating planets. They left the session with a strong eagerness to learn more about the mysterious space that exists beyond our planet!
🔬This Science morning for Berkhamsted Prep was a mind-blowing fusion of art, memory games, and physics!

🎨They zoomed into the laws of physics by creating balloon-powered cars and unleashed their artistic skills by recreating Mr Macpherson’s decorated box from memory.

Our Year 10 Prefects were totally engaged in their second training event last week.
As well as taking part in sessions on presentation skills, running meetings, building teams and coaching conversations, our students received accredited Mental Health First Aid training.
This is all part of our commitment to developing leadership skills so that our students flourish in school and beyond.

Working collaboratively they had to design, test and adjust their balloon powered cars before measuring the distance they travelled. They also had to recreate a highly decorated box by memory alone, relying on effective communication of their team to include every detail. Well done to the winning design. @berkhamstedschools
